The Red Sea Parts
Exodus 14:15-31
A Note for Parents
This is one of the most famous miracles in all of scripture! Help your child imagine the towering walls of water and the dry path through the sea. The key teaching: God saves His people completely, but faith requires action.
Scripture Story
God told Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea. Moses obeyed, and an incredible miracle happened — a strong east wind blew all night long, and the sea split in two! There were walls of water on the right and walls of water on the left, and a dry path right through the middle...
“After you have gotten the message, after you have paid the price to feel His love and hear the word of the Lord, go forward.”
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
Let's Talk About It
- • What miracle did God do to save the Israelites?God sent a strong wind that split the sea in two, and the Israelites walked through on dry ground. “The Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.” (Exodus 14:21)
- • Why did they have to walk forward even though it was scary?
- • How does faith help us move forward when things are hard?
